Gateway's New Life Center

The New Life Center is a place of miracles; a place where men in bondage to drugs and alcohol receive freedom through Jesus Christ. It is a place where smiles replace frowns; a place where men who once knew loneliness and misery come to know love and laughter. Nestled in the peaceful surroundings of Simpson County, the New Life Center is a world away from the urban street life known by so many drug addicts and alcoholics. The New Life Center is the perfect setting for Christ centered recovery.

Every man who comes to Gateway Rescue Mission is offered the opportunity to learn what the new life in Christ can do to help him overcome any bondage he may be experiencing.

In the early years of the mission, alcoholism was the "usual" form of addiction.  However, with the eighties and nineties has come the epidemic spread of cocaine addiction.

Also with the "modern" era has come an even more deadly disease - situation ethics.  This along with a perverted sense of morality is harder to reverse than any form of addiction.

"As he thinketh in his heart...."     Selfishness and self-gratification has led the people who come to us back to what the Bible describes as "man doing that which is right in his own eyes."

The centrality at the New Life Center is the exchanged life in Jesus Christ.  Not I but Christ.  Until an individual can come to the position that  he can do nothing without Christ, it is impossible for any permanent, meaningful change to take place.  Our five month program takes a man through the scriptures and shows him how to surrender his life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
